The Southwell Library is well-resourced and is situated in the Learning Centre and is open daily from 8.30am - 5.00pm. Students are part of the buying team and can make requests through an annual survey of reading interests and via the Book-a-Book Book.

Library staff select books and online resources to aid students' learning in the classroom.  They enjoy making individual recommendations and tempt students with irresistible books, both fiction and non-fiction.  The Library team are also available to meet with parents who can check out the latest news on the Library Facebook Page and Blogs.

Every week when classes visit there are new books and features, covering genres, non fiction subjects and schoolwide learning themes.  The Library has a reading pit, where the students sit around in a comfortable setting and are introduced to the latest and greatest in fiction and non fiction by the Librarian.

The Southwell library is a vibrant environment.  Open at morning interval and lunch, it is a place where children can come in and browse the constantly changing collection, challenge their friends to a board game, use the Library computers and iPads, or simply relax and read a book.
