ike most of you, I can’t quite believe we are already We have a great team and we are looking to expand this in July and half the year has already passed. It has group and have set a goal of having representation from been great to see traditional school events and key Alumni demographics, especially our more recent
fixtures back on the calendar this year and that the school is back to being a bustling and busy place.
I’d also like to acknowledge the significant achievement
of the several Alumni in a number of their sporting and cultural pursuits. It has been a real thrill to be able to share their success stories with the Southwell Community via the Alumni Facebook and Instagram platforms.
The Alumni committee has been busy completing the work we have been doing on understanding our core purpose or our “why”.
I believe the team have nailed it and this gives us a clear understanding of what it is we are all here to do. The team have some great ideas around new events and innovations that will help in achieving this goal.
The renaming and rebranding of the association from OBGA to Southwell Alumni will not only give the association a new modern look and feel but it will also help reflect our purpose as an organisation and who we represent.
leavers. The team will be pushing hard on this front and hope to have new appointments made throughout the year. Please reach out if you are interested, we are happy to have a chat.
The Alumni Sports Pavilion is complete and was officially opened on June 6, we are thrilled with this space and look forward to hosting many functions and events for our Alumni Community. This will complement an already outstanding campus here at Southwell and is a versatile space to be used and enjoyed by all.
Plans are well underway for the introduction of an Alumni Hall of Fame or Alumni of Honour Award and will be introduced in the coming months. This concept has been created to recognise exceptional achievements by varying Southwell Alumni and to inspire the next generation as to what is possible.
2023 has been a busy year already and I can only see things ramping up as we move through the year. We have plenty of work ahead of us and am confident we have the team that will deliver some great Alumni events and keep our Alumni Family connected and informed throughout the rest of the year.
Welcome all to our new Alumni Community, past students, past parents, friends, staff and supporters of the school... its great to have you with us.
