YEAR 3 CAMP : WAIHI SLEEPOVER
It started to rain so we had to be quick. I picked up my stuff along with my mum's. We walked as quickly as we could up the hill and across to the shelter. Phew! It felt like it had been hours! I felt so tired. A couple of minutes later the fish and chips arrived. After we ate I stepped down onto the wet and still sand and pulled on a wetsuit. Then we chose a surfboard and stepped into the cold waves. I was ready to surf! The coaches showed us how to do it and everybody found an adult. I tucked my toes on the tail of my surfboard and started paddling...
EEEK! I squealed in delight. I had caught the wave. One...two...three...four! I crashed into Brooke and Sarah... Oh no!
I got up and tried again... One...two... I crashed into the nose of Brooke’s surfboard again! I got up and tried again a couple of times and I finally came to the time that I had been waiting for. I was ready to start standing up. OOOH YEAH!
The wave was approaching me. I started paddling. The wave hit me. One...two... three! I jumped up I was standing up on the surfboard. Ah I fell off... Ouch!
"I’m okay," I thought to myself. The surfboard I was using was too big. I got on my board and the wave pushed me off my board. This board is way too slippery. Max and I swapped. I got a new board which made me get to the other end of the beach.

As I woke up I felt fresh air go through my lungs. I could smell the morning joy that would come my way. As I sat up in my bed I jumped out and got dressed into some play clothes.
I then remembered the eels! I ran to them. I climbed from the flat rocks down to the eels. After a long time of playing, I ran to the bouncy pillow but as I jumped my dad came over. I fell into laughter as he jumped with me and everyone else on it.
I went on an imaginary vacation with Zoey, Evie, Amelia and Scarlett. After I went on vacation the teachers called us to have ice blocks. After that we all went to bed.
None of us except Zoey got nice sleep. Finally, I got to sleep when it was nearly dawn. In the morning, the teachers woke us up because they were talking.
