Being 2021’s Head Chorister of the Girls’ Choir of All Hallows Chapel has been such a privilege. I have enjoyed every minute of it. As a kid I have always loved being part of a choir, so being Head Chorister has been an absolutely amazing experience.
Despite the disruption of the pandemic, we were still able to perform at the St Peter’s Cathedral, at multiple chapel services, and Grandparents' Day. This year was also the celebration of 100 Years of Opera. The choirs performed a combined item from Fiddler on the Roof. It was a medley of multiple songs from the incredible musical. We also sang another medley from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
with the Symphony Orchestra. We also got to participate in the 75th Birthday celebration with the Hamilton Civic Choir and sing Carmina Burana with them at Clarence Street Theatre. This was one of the many highlights this year.
Sadly, this year’s Girls’ Choir Trip was cancelled due to Covid-19.
I would like to say a huge thank you to every chorister. You girls are absolutely amazing and talented. I am really going to miss our hilarious conversations during our practices. Thank you to all the parents who brought their daughters to practices and performances and robed and ribboned us. Thank you to our accompanists Angela
Smith, Eon Malan and helpers for being there at every service.
Above all, I would like to thank Mrs McIntyre on behalf of the choir. You are amazing! We love you as our choir teacher, conductor and as an overall absolutely incredible person. I don’t know what the choirs would be without you.
I have loved being part of a group, a sisterhood of talented choristers who have my back. It is now the end, which makes me sad. I have to leave. I have learnt so many different things and now have friendships that I will cherish forever.
