Year 7 & 8 Cycling
Another year of ups and downs for our Southwell cyclists this year.
We welcomed many new riders this year and it is great to see more students on bikes, maybe inspired by lots of family bike rides during lockdown.
Unfortunately due to lockdowns and Covid-19 restrictions, almost all competitions were cancelled this year. However, our riders stayed positive and were not too cranky about the cancellations. There is always next year!
Fantastic results for the 2021 Term 1 Summer Series, hosted by The Hamilton City Cycling Club, saw Billy Broughton placing first and Jack Ganley third in the under 15s. A superb effort by both boys, luckily they were not two-tyred from school on Thursday to compete in racing.
As always a huge thank you to the parents for playing taxi driver, coach, nutritionist, physiotherapists, and much more, for our riders.

To all those Year 8 cyclists who finished up with us this year, congratulations on your re-tire-ment.
