INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
The String Orchestra has been such a great and amazing experience for me.
This group plays such fun and exciting music when it all comes together.
The String Orchestra is a great group for all talented children who want to showcase what they are capable of.
The String Orchestra has been through so many difficult challenges, starting with Covid, but all of us have pushed through and made magnificent music over the year.
It has been such a pleasure playing the violin in such an amazing orchestra. We’ve performed at Grandparents' Day, competitions, Prize Giving and many more.
We practised every Thursday morning at 7.45am and it’s the best way to start the day.
Thank you to Mrs Trenwith, who conducts us and many other groups in mornings and afternoons. We couldn’t have all of these amazing instrumental groups without her.

Southwell School Yearbook 2022
The Wind Band is an auditioned group involving many instruments and students of various ages. We have everything from guitars to a tuba, TWO french horns, along with saxophones, clarinets, trumpets, trombones, flutes and a variety of percussion. With students from Years 3 to 8, it is considered an introduction to performing in an instrumental group at Southwell and I have enjoyed my time in it.
We had many performances this year, including going to the Music Festival for the first time in two years. We unleashed our inner pilots with Danger Zone and stayed positive with Everything is Awesome, and we won a silver award with our performance.
But, it couldn’t be done without the amazing Mrs Trenwith. From watching the auditions to conducting the group, she has been awesome.
