SWIMMING POOL
The school swimming pool is available to the boarders after school during the summer - other school activities permitting. Swims are supervised by at least one member of staff and the children are made clearly aware of the safety aspects of using the pool. Boarders will be expected to wear school swimming togs when using the school pool during the week. Girls will be expected to wear one-piece togs at all times. Two named mufti towels should be sent to school for this purpose and will also be required for swimming lessons at school.
TOYS
Please leave expensive toys and articles of value at home. If valuable items are sent to school they need to be placed in the care of the Heads of Boarding. Any items of value brought into the Boarding House are the responsibility of your child. If there is anything which you are unsure about, please contact the relevant Head of Boarding.
TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
Students travel home and return in their school uniform.
There are currently a number of transport services available to our Boarders:
Students travelling north of Hamilton to Auckland are currently able to use the Aerolink Shuttle service on Fridays and Sundays.
Students travelling South between Hamilton and Te Kuiti are able to use the Ammon Motors Bus Service (previously known as Dobson’s Bus Service).
There are also services available for students travelling to Tauranga and to Turangi via Taupo.
Details about any of these services can be requested from the Heads of Boarding, but we then ask that parents make all the necessary arrangements with these service providers directly and inform the Boarding House Mother of the booking each weekend.
If families require children to use a taxi service to the bus station, the Boarding House Mother can make appropriate bookings, but cannot be held responsible for problems that may occur. Please note that students will travel unaccompanied in such situations.
A google form will be e-mailed to parents early each week. Parents should enter their child/children’s weekend arrangements in this form by the Wednesday evening of each week.
