UNIFORM
The clothing list gives both the maximum and minimum amount of clothing. Every item is essential.
Itismostimportantthateacharticleisclearlynamedwithnametags. Anadequate supply of name tags should be left in the Linen Room for any new uniform purchased during the term. Black shoes are difficult to name but white paint markers are most successful. Shirts should be tagged in the centre of the back of the neck, socks at the top inside leg, shorts/pants/underwear in the centre back of the waist. All mufti must be marked in a similar manner.
It is expected that new uniform is purchased and named before it is needed. Summer Uniform: Terms 1 and 4
Winter Uniform: Terms 2 and 3
Parents are requested to check name tags during the holidays and not to send back any items of unnamed clothing.
All clothing is laundered at School and that which is not being used is stored in the Linen Room. There is a set pattern for changing of clothing. Dry cleaning is organised by the School when it is required. Costs for dry cleaning are disbursed to parents’ accounts.
At the end of each term the students take home their clothes and personal belongings. Parents are asked to check and replace them if required. Please do not send back items of clothing which need to be repaired, or which no longer fit adequately.
At the start of the year the students' belongings must be packed into a suitably large, clearly named suitcase. As students accumulate many other treasures which must be packed, a suitcase of suitable size must be provided. (This is especially important if students are travelling on public transport at the end of term as all articles should be in a suitcase).
Suitcases are stored here at School and should not be taken home when the students have unpacked.
Every student should have a school weekend bag which can be purchased from the Uniform Shop.
One draw string bag is required for taking sports gear to and from school and this can also be purchased at the school shop. If you wish, articles may be ordered through the School Shop if written permission is given to the Heads of Boarding.
