DAVID SHEARER - (1967-71)
Past President of Southwell Alumni and current committee member (2008-current). Parent of 3 Southwell Alumni James (2005-08), Elizabeth (2009-10) and Hannah (2011-13). Owner of Shearers Music Works in Hamilton and a keen supporter of the Arts at Southwell, particularly House Singing. Avid Golfer and one of Southwell’s most dedicated supporters.
David has Southwell close to his heart and goes beyond to support all Southwell Endeavours. David is astute and his considered influence along with his positive thinking, passion for Southwell and humble leadership has been greatly valued on OBGA Committee.
MELANIE O’NEIL
Past parent of two Southwell Old Boys Nicholas (2007-15) and Lachlan (2009-17) and married to David (1965-70). Past Chairman of the Foundation Trust Board and Trustee (2012-2022). Currently an independent Barrister practising
in Hamilton, specialising in Family and Empolyment law and mediation.
Melanie’s knowledge of and passion for Southwell, her Governance and Legal advice and attention to detail are traits that have been a valuable asset to The Foundation Trust. Melanie is a positive thinker and has a pragmatic approach to life in general.
KAREN O’MEEGHAN
Past parent to Sophie (2006-13), Oliver (2007-15) and former Head Girl, Lucy (2010-18). President of the Southwell School Association (2010-15) and Southwell Trust Board Trustee (2010-19).
Karen’s service to Southwell School has been invaluable. She is thoughtful, quietly reflective and has always made a valuable contribution to board discussion. Karen has Southwell close to her heart and is passionate in her support of Southwell endeavours.
