Parents are requested to check their children’s hair for head lice regularly. If nits are discovered, parents must please treat the condition at home prior to sending their children back to school. Hair checks of all Boarders are done as a routine at the start and end of term.
There is a sick bay next to the School Nurse’s Office where boys and girls are looked after if they are ill. If a child is likely to be sick for more than a day, parents will be requested to take their children home until they are well.

HOUSE TUTORS
Southwell has a tradition of employing young people from overseas to help in the Boarding House. We currently run a system of employing two Southern Hemisphere tutors in January and two Northern Hemisphere tutors in July. This enables us to create a ‘roll-on’ effect as the old tutors help to train the new tutors. These tutors are either selected and/or recommended by Letz Live, or they are independent candidates who are selected by the Heads of Boarding in conjunction with the Headmaster.
LEAVE
All leave, other than weekend arrangements, is granted at the discretion of the Heads of Boarding. Permission for leave can only be granted by the Heads of Boarding or Assistant House Masters on duty at the time. Boarding House Mothers and Tutors are not authorised to grant leave.
All boarders go home for weekends; either after school on Fridays from 3:20 pm onwards or after sport on Saturdays. Boarders who do not have sports fixtures on Saturdays may stay in on Friday nights if there are other boarders staying overnight in order to play matches on the Saturday. Otherwise parents will be asked to collect their children on Friday afternoon. Boarders staying in on Friday and who are not playing sport need to be picked up before 10:00 am on Saturday.
A google form will be e-mailed to parents early each week. Parents should enter their child/children’s weekend arrangements in this form by the Wednesday evening of each week.
All information regarding weekend arrangements are to be e-mailed to the Boarding House Mother by Wednesday evening.
If a boarder wishes to go to a friend’s house for the weekend, permission via e-mail needs to be given by both sets of parents. Leave cannot be granted without the
