CHAPEL
At the centre of School life is All Hallows Chapel where day by day we focus on our values and relationships.
Services are held each day that the School is open, with students and teaching staff attending Morning Services at 8.30 am. Parents and friends are most welcome to all services.
Specific Sunday Services are outlined on our school calendar. Students to wear No 1 uniform to Chapel Services.
Communication of an absence from Sunday Chapel Services needs to be, in writing, to the Year Level Dean in the week prior to the service.
At Southwell we follow the practice of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa / New Zealand and Polynesia. To encourage and offer Holy Baptism to our students, baptisms take place at special services (mid-year) and at other appropriate times. As is also the custom of the Church, children are then able to join in with Holy Communion. Southwell does not formally admit students to Holy Communion. Attendance at Holy Communion services are purely voluntary, but are encouraged. Confirmation does not take place at
Southwell.
